While Daddy's Away, the Children will Play

Daddy went to Corvallis, Oregon, this weekend, for work. He went out to do a little recruiting for the summer, and to have a little bit of fun. Unbeknownst to him, Mommy and Baby Walker also decided to have a little fun as well. Mommy thought it would be funny to teach baby Walker a few new tricks.

You see, Walker has been quite the daredevil. He quickly learned how to hold his own bottle, circa 1 month old (okay, so we propped it up). He sat up quickly, he learned to crawl quickly, he even would stand up and walk with help fairly quickly. He has learned to climb up boxes, climb up the couch, etc. That comes as no surprise. He has always liked to reach as high as possible and try to pull things down. Cell phone charges, papers on the table, he has learned to get up and down from the couch. He has learned how to fall feet-first off of our bed, so that he doesn't get hurt when he lands. I assume all of this is normal, for anybody that has any child-rearing experience would know.

What I was unprepared for, though, was for mommy to teach Baby Walker how to climb on top of the dresser!! She taught him how to use all of his new-found skills of climbing, and opening drawers. She taught Walker that he can climb inside of the drawer he just opened, which will get him high enough to open the next drawer, which he can also climb into. If he does it 3 times, he can get onto the VERY TOP part of the dresser. Very funny, mommy. Now you can't blame me when he starts trying to do flips off of the roof when he is 6 years old.
